Part 1 involves the City of Scranton, PA and the area to the north and east. Scranton served as
the center of operations for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, including its main
shops and a large station and corporate office complex. Besides the DL&W, the other railroads
depicted are: the New York, Ontario & Western; the Wilkes-Barre & Eastern; the Delaware Valley;
the Delaware & Hudson; the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley interurban; the Erie; and the Shohola
Glen Switchback. The DL&W portion includes the mainline through Pennsylvania as well as the
Lackawanna & Bloomsburg and Montrose branches.
